Ubiquitous element in all its thermodynamics states along the Pacific side of patagonian Andes, water is more concentrated and contained on the eastern side of the cordillera. Held back in icefields masses, or in those of glaciers of more usual proportions, or in lacustrine expanses of gigantic scales, or of more usual or modest ones, the sprawls of those solid or liquid ensembles provide some decisive contributions to the embellishments of landscapes of andean foothills or of the heart of the cordillera. Through the valuable broadening of the chromatic palette in landscapes brought to traveller's eyes, in particular. Numerous streams, small or large, running through wooded areas and around topographic obstacles contribute equally to this embellishment.

This gallery offers you some photographs of well known and highly visited and photographed places (photographs taken long ago), and much more unusual views over some streams or lakes of the region.

(N.B. a "cordón" is a mountain range)
